Paint Protection · Bethlehem, PA

    Paint that survives
    a Lehigh Valley winter.

Salt, cinders, and a truck ahead of you on 78. We spray a clear protective film over your paint so the road hits that instead of your finish. Years later it peels off and the paint underneath is the paint you bought.

    What the roads do

    Three things chew on
    Lehigh Valley paint.

    Winter salt and cinders

Lehigh Valley crews salt hard and early. Salt finds every chip that already exists and widens it, and cinders arrive at your front end like buckshot every time you follow a truck.

    I-78 and Route 22

Both are heavy truck routes, both throw stone, and both are where most Bethlehem miles get put on. Highway speed turns a small stone into a chip that reaches primer.

    Freeze and thaw

A chip that reaches primer holds water. Water freezes, lifts the edge, and by spring the chip is a flake. This is why a dot in November is a repair in April.

    What you drive home

    A finish with no
    edges to find.

What goes on is a clear protective film, 8 to 12 mil thick, sprayed rather than cut from a roll. Because nothing was cut, there is no seam across your hood and no line at the panel gaps to darken with road grime.

It bonds mechanically instead of with adhesive, so nothing is glued to your clearcoat waiting to cure on. Salt cannot creep under an edge that does not exist.

It also comes in over 274 colors in gloss, satin, or matte, so a color change is on the table and it is reversible before you sell.

    About the drive

    We are 45 minutes south,
    and you only come once.

Worth saying plainly rather than letting you find it on a map. Lehigh Valley owners drive it every week, and here is the reason it is worth the trip.

    It needs a booth

This cures like automotive clear coat, so it needs filtered air, 70 to 75 degrees, and humidity under 60 percent. A clean install bay cannot hold those numbers. A downdraft paint booth can.

    02

    You come once

The car arrives and stays a few days. Correction, masking, spraying, curing, sanding and polishing all happen in one visit. There is no back and forth, which is what usually makes distance expensive.

    03

A body shop is behind it

We sit inside Heritage Collision Experts. Eleven years of bodywork, color matching and refinishing under the same roof. If your paint needs correction first, that is not a referral. It happens here.

    WHY THIS SHOP

Five years sharp. Eleven years deep.

Total Detail has spent the last five years becoming the region's go-to for premium protection and finish work. Heritage Collision Experts — our partner shop — has been behind Pottstown-area vehicles for eleven. Between the two, your car leaves with the protection, the finish, and the structural work handled under one roof.

    Frequently asked questions.

    What does paint protection cost?

It depends on how much of the car you cover, how much correction the paint needs first, and how complex the panels are. A front end sits well below a full car. Our pricing is published, so you can see the range before you call.

How far is the shop from Bethlehem?

About 35 miles, roughly 45 minutes down Route 100 or 309 depending on where you start. We are at 449 B Old Reading Pike, Stowe, PA 19464. Most Lehigh Valley customers make the drive once and leave the car with us.

Is it worth driving that far?

If a shop nearer to you has a downdraft paint booth and does this weekly, go see them. If the choice is a booth 45 minutes away or an install bay down the street, the booth is the thing that changes the result. That is the honest version.

Can I drop the car and get a ride back?

Plan on leaving it a few days, so most Bethlehem customers arrange a ride or a rental. Tell us when you book and we will work around your schedule.

Can I change the color of my car?

Yes. Over 274 colors in gloss, satin, or matte. It sprays on and peels off, so you can run something the factory never offered and go back to original before you sell.

Do you cover Allentown and Easton too?

Yes. Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton, Emmaus and Macungie are all the same trip for us, and Lehigh Valley cars are a regular part of the week.
